Aim: How is the Executive Branch of the U.S. designed?

Bell Ringer: Current Events

Objectives:

1. Students will analyze the structures, functions, and processes of the executive branch as described in Article II of the Constitution.

Agenda:

1. Create a chart identifying and explaining the roles and responsibilities of the President and Vice President of the United States.

2. Create a political cartoon illustrating the president’s handling of a public policy issue.

3. Analyze the reasons for the electoral college and the pros and cons of continuing to use it. Have students debate their views in a whole group discussion. DUE: MONDAY, 11/20/2017
