1. 1. Students analyze the structures, functions, and processes of the executive branch as described in Article II of the Constitution. 

Agenda: 

1. 1. Bell Ringer (10/15 min)  

2. 2. Read from the Presidential Elections episode on BP: "Way Back When" packet. (10/15 min)  

3. 3. Analyze the reasons for the electoral college and the pros and cons of continuing to use it. (Write pros and cons on the board in a T-Chart) (10 min)  

4. 4. Have students debate their views in a whole group discussion about the electoral college and its efficacy. (10 min)  

5. 5. Journal 39 – Should the United States continue to use the Electoral College? Why or why not? (rest of class)
