Aim: How is the Executive Branch of the U.S. designed?

Bell Ringer: Portfolio Upgrade

Objectives:
1.     Students analyze the structures, functions, and processes of the executive branch as described in Article II of the Constitution.

Agenda:
1.     Bell Ringer (10/15 min)
2.     Collect "Presidential Roles & Public Policy" Project
3.     BP: "Presidential Elections" (7 min)
4.     BP Activities: "Graphic Organizer" and "Activity" (10 min)
5.     Analyze the reasons for the electoral college and the pros and cons of continuing to use it. (Write pros and cons on the board in a T-Chart)
6.     Have students debate their views in a whole group discussion about the electoral college and its efficacy.
